Earth Day 2025 at the Warwick State Forest
Mohawk 4x4 Adventures has found a new location for this year's Earth Day clean up, and we are building new partnerships at the local and state level, new sponsors and using all of our resources and networks.
The Warwick State Forest features a series of interconnected forest roads that stretch well beyond its boundaries, into neighboring towns, counties and New Hampshire. We will be cleaning up a concentrated area with assistance from DCR.
The BF Goodrich Outstanding Trails Program is funding about $900 for safety shirts, tools and equipment, through TREAD Lightly!

FSB Tire Recycling is donating their resources to properly recycle tires we will be collecting.

Thanks to Rick's Roll-Offs, LLC for 14 yard dumpster services.

Scotty's Potties, Inc is bringing a free port-a-pottie for HQ.

We have partnered with the Dept. of Conservation and Recreation and the Central Highlands District Manager, the Field Operations Team Leader at Erving State Forest Complex, The Forest and Park Supervisor and will have DCR staff helping us out. We have our permission in hand and a detailed incident plan to carry out. There are many more positive supporters for a successful clean up and discussions on the next steps to preserve free, public access and what we will do next April.
Event Registration
We will have Event Tee Shirts for volunteers at the event.

When you click the register button, Select a Driver Ticket for either Trail Rig or Truck/Trailer.
There is a $10 ticket fee we are setting aside to offset any costs the club may incur that we can't get reimbursed for, like electronics disposal or items not suitable for a dumpster.
Next, select free tickets for passengers. Your best guess is fine. It is for planning and tee shirts.
We will be accepting donations, if you wish.
There's a few questions after that for registration.
What to Expect
Meeting time will be 9am at Camp Warwick on Richmond Rd in Warwick, MA.
The meeting location will be our event headquarters. The dumpsters will be located here. One is for trash and one will be for tires.
Every person will be required to sign our club waiver and we have Volunteer Release Forms from DCR which require signatures. There's instructions for children. It's a family friendly event.
After the sign in period and distributing SWAG (Stuff we all get) there will be a Tailgate Safety Session and a review of the incident plan for the day. Leaders will be assigned their routes and we will divide into teams.
Goals!
- Have a fun and safe day doing a trail clean up project on public, 4WD accessible routes.
- Building bridges, not walls. Mohawk 4x4 Adventures is an asset and an ally, building long term partnerships.
- Future projects on DCR property with open forest roads. This includes, literally, building a bridge.
- Managed Access is Respected Access. Respected Access is Sustainable Access. Sustainable Access is Continued Access.
- We will collect trash along multiple routes with trail rigs and deliver it to one or two staging areas. 4WD pick ups or trailers will be able to shuttle larger loads to Camp Warwick.
- We are using this ideal location with permission and under advisory from DCR.
- It is our responsibility to stage the litter we collect here and removal will happen by mostly 3rd parties within 7 days. We expect very minor details to be worked out to leave the area better than we found it.
This is what it has always been about - public access to public property for 4x4s. This is a huge opportunity for our club and many other 4WD users. We have an opportunity on roads that are open, but have been abused. These are the kinds of roads that get shut down when people carry in more than they carry out. Mohawk 4x4 Adventures is going to carry out. We're going to carry out trash and we're going to carry out our club's mission.
“Our mission is to provide members with adventures in their dual purpose street and trail ready 4×4 vehicles with confident leadership and qualified education. We believe education will help members be better advocates of safety, recovery and driving techniques that will promote best practices on public and private properties and trail networks. Our club will work to maintain trails and trail access on public and private property with cooperation of landowners and managers.”
This is your time to shine!
WE WANT YOU TO VOLUNTEER FOR THIS ADVENTURE.
